Rules and Expectations for the 2023 Jenny Lin Summer Youth Music Program

  1.  Sign in – Please sign in with a parent volunteer at the beginning of each rehearsal. This is very important to
ensure you are not marked absent and to keep all participants safe. Please be sure to label your music stand and
instrument case with your name and phone number.
  2. Staying on campus – for the ENTIRE rehearsal/performance is required. Parents must check in at registration
to release their child earlier than 9:00 pm. For emergency contact call/text 510-537-7366 or 408-506-4457.
  3. Come on Time/Be Picked Up on Time – Arrive early enough to sign in and be in place with your music, music
stand and pencil, ready to rehearse by 6:45pm (first week 6:30pm) each night. Your ride home must be at Creekside
Middle School by 9:00pm for every rehearsal. The district locks the Creekside M.S. gates at 9:20pm.
  4. Attend Rehearsals – Final Week Rehearsals are mandatory! Please report any other absences ahead of
time. If you will be absent, late, or have to leave early with a legitimate reason, inform your conductor &
    registration as early as possible.
  5. Respect the school’s facilities and other people – Creekside Middle School is kind enough to let us use their
facilities, so please treat them well. Be considerate of each other, treating other people, their property and/or their
instruments with respect. Let’s all agree to make this a safe environment for the people who enjoy playing music.
  6. Parents, please follow the Traffic Instructions and use the student drop-off/pick-up procedures sent to you,
so the students walk into the school by the recommended routes, using crosswalks and sidewalks.
  7. Community Service Hours Certificates are provided by e-mail upon request (alison.tan@jennylinfoundation.org).
School forms requiring a signature, must be signed by conductors before Tech Rehearsal.
